A lovely  original tinted lithograph entitled “The Jail Forecourt And House From the College Church” Edinburgh, by the London-born artist Samuel Swarbreck. Dates from 1837 and is one from a folio of 26 tinted lithos issued by Swarbreck in 1839 entitled Sketches in Scotland, Drawn On The Stone From Nature. In good condition in its original frame and mount. Signed, dated and titled in the plate.

Measures 32 cm wide by 42 cm deep (55 cm by 66 cm in its frame).

An Extensive River Scene with Fisherman and Ruin Above

A very nice little Victorian watercolour in a gold gilt frame showing a deep river gorge with a fisherman casting a rod and a man and woman behind. Above is the ruin of a tall building. Unsigned. In good conditon, remounted in its original frame.

The Swallow, Brighton, Unsigned (1824)

l1020902 l1020905An interesting pen and ink wash drawing of the sterns of three boats, two of which appear to be under sail. One boat is named as “the Swallow” with the owner’s name, “James Holden”, below This picture is unsigned but bears the date, 11th September 1824, top left.

Some light foxing present but generally  in good condition in its original frame and mount.
