Glenalmond by Edwin Ladell (1914 -1917)

A fine lithograph by the English artist Edwin Ladell (1914-1970) showing Glenalmond College in Perthshire, one of Scotland’s leading Independent Schools. In good condition, it is signed, titled and numbered 23 from a run of 75 by the artist.

Measures 58 cm wide by 36 cm deep (72.5 by 53 cm in its frame and mount).

Lord Mansfield by Lawrence Jossett (1910 -1955)

P1050274A beautiful mezzotint of Lord Mansfield (1756-1788), the Chief Justice of England by the engraver and printer Lawrence Jossett from a painting by David Martin in the possession of Sir Geoffrey Hutchinson.  Signed in pencil, lower right, this work is blind-stamped and bears a label, verso, from Messrs D. MacDonald and Bros of Glasgow and was published by Frost and Reed in 1956.  It is clean and in good condition in its original frame.

Measures 41 cm wide by 55 cm deep (56.5 cm by 71 cm in its frame).

A rare pair of landscape watercolours showing Highland scenes by the English artist William Augustus Sillince. Each is signed by the artist, lower right, and both are in good condition having recently been professionally reframed. These are unusual, since Sillince was primarily a cartoonist.

Waterfall (Eas Fors, Mull?) by Colin Bent Phillip RWS, (1855-1932)

A lovely and very large waterfall by the English-born watercolourist  Colin Bent Phillip who produced a great number of paintings of Scotland. This present work shows a waterfall which could be Eas Fors in Mull although I am not sure about this. Signed, lower right, and dated July 1913, this painting is in good condition.

Measures 60 cm deep by 85 cm wide (89 cm by 119 cm in its mount and frame).
