

An oil on canvas behind glass by the Scottish artist James Grant Leckie Ewing who flourished around the 1900’s. This work shows a rural Scottish township, somewhere in the Highlands, with an old woman working her spinning wheel at the door of her home, her chickens at her feet. In the distance is a bridge with houses behind. In good condition. There are two old, small repairs to the canvas. It has been reframed at some time.

A lovely large watercolour by the Scottish artist Munro Neville showing an extensive landscape looking across to the hills of Arran from Barassie Beach, in Ayrshire. Signed bottom right and in good condition having recently been professionally reframed. Most of a label for the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours has been retained, verso.
A charming little French charcoal and chalk drawing of a young lady disporting herself in a carefree manner au plein aire. Bears a signature, which could be “Yvonne Raymond De Lammonth” or similar. In good condition in a sympathetic gold frame.
A fine etching by the Scottish artist William Douglas Macleod (1892-1962), signed and titled in pencil by the artist and depicting a busy scene in a fishing village in Eastern Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. In good condition.
A very nice little seascape entitled “Whitby Sands” and signed and dated 1894 by the artist Herbert Moxon Cook (1844-1929). In good condition having been reframed at some time.
A delightful etching in colours by the Skye-based printmaker Tom Mackenzie, entitled “Sgurr A’ Gheadaidh’ and showing the view from the highest point on the central section of the Cuillin Ridge on Skye. This lovely work is signed by the artist and was used as a poster for a collaboration between Mackenzie and the Gaelic poet Sorley Maclean whose 18-line poem -“Air (on) Sgurr A’ Gheadaidh” – celebrates the majesty and loneliness of this wild, haunting place.
A delightful oil on canvas by the long-lived Scottish artist William Miller Frazer (1864-1961) depicting a wooded landscape with a river in the foreground and a farm building behind. Signed, lower right, by the artist.
