Born in Glasgow in 1956, Jennifer Irvine studied at the Glasgow School of Art between 1974 and 1978 after which she embarked upon a career as an art teacher in the city’s schools. In 1990, having continued to paint and exhibit her own work during her spell as a teacher, she decided to become a full time professional artist, working from her own studio in Glasgow and in Argyllshire. In recent years she has also painted on the continent, in Spain, France and Italy, producing wonderful images of French and Italian buildings and townscapes. Jennifer now shows at some of our most prestigious and influential galleries, including the Red Rag Scottish Gallery.
