Born in Port Glasgow in 1931, James Watt graduated from Glasgow School of Art and has spent most of his life producing marvellous pictures in oil and pastel, finding much of his inspiration from the River Clyde and from the docks and wharfs of Greenock. Watt, whose works are held in a number of private collections, including those of her Majesty the Queen and Prince Phillip, the Royal Navy and the Scottish Arts Council and in any number of galleries and corporate collections throughout the world, is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy.
A very nice oil on canvas by the Port Glasgow born artist James Watt showing a copse of trees on a sloping hill. Signed and dated 1958 by the artist and in good condition, recently reframed.
Measures 75 cm wide by 38 cm deep (83 cm by 48 m in its frame).
