Working from her studio in her family-owned hotel on the banks of the Crinan Canal, in Argyll, Frances Macdonald has been producing vibrant and dramatic land and seascapes of Scotlands West coast and islands for almost three decades. Her paintings, exhibited regularly throughout Scotland, the UK and Europe, can be seen in a number of important private and corporate collections at home and abroad, including the Fleming’s Scottish Collection. She has also exhibited at London’s Portland Gallery and The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh. She served as a Council Member of the Scottish Society of Women Artists between 1983 and 1986 and of the Royal Glasgow Institute from 2004-2006.
