Michael Forbes was born in Dingwall, in Ross-shire, The Highlands, in 1968. A self-taught artist who now sells worldwide, he paints quirky, amusing and sometimes darkly menacing pictures. Whilst Forbes prefers to live in the Highlands, his work on the other hand is highly collectible and widely travelled. Forbes’ work has been shown at a number of highly prestigious galleries and exhibitions including The Royal Scottish Academy, the Pop International Gallery, the 941 Gallery, San Francisco, the Royal Glasgow Institute, the Compass Gallery, Glasgow, as well as in venues and shows in London, San Francisco, Baltimore, Monaco, Hollywood and Hong Kong.and Art Fairs in Dublin, Glasgow and New York. His work is also collected by the comedians Ricky Gervais and Terry Gilliam. He has also featured on numerous television art programmes including Channel 4”s “Four Rooms”
