John Gunson Atkinson was a prolific landscape painter from London. He exhibited mostly at the Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street, but also showed works at the British Institution and Royal Academy from 1854 to 1874. Many of his works are views of Wales with a commentary on working class society.

A very pleasing pastoral scene by the English artist John Gunson Atkinson (1836-1893) who flourished between the years 1849 and 1879. Unsigned but bearing a plaque on its original frame giving name and dates. In fine condition.

Measures 85 cm wide by 59 cm deep (99.5 cm by 70 cm in its frame).
