Born in Govan, Glasgow, the painter, etcher and illustrator Ian McIlhenny studied at Glasgow School of Art and was an active member of the city’s prestigious Art Club. Best known for his paintings which are vibrant and full of colour, he worked in oils, watercolours and pen and ink. He exhibited at all the major public venues including the Royal Scottish Academy, the Glasgow Institute and the Royal Academy.
His work is in private collections all over the world including Japan, South Africa, Germany, France, South Africa,the USA and UK.
An extensive and quite large landscape in pastel by the Glasgow artist Ian McIlhenny, signed and dated 1977 by the artist. In good condition, recently professionally reframed and remounted.
Measures 80 cm wide by 57 cm deep (104 cm wide by 83 cm in its frame and mount).
