After training as a painter and printmaker in Gloucestershire, Elizabeth Cobb chose to divide her time between the North west and Cornwall, where she became an associate of the St. Ives Society of Arts. She says that one of her longstanding interests is coastal landscape, and for the way in which its detail and light can be altered and disrupted by the forces of nature.
