Watson Turnbull was a painter and stained glass artist who lived in London, Edinburgh, Hampshire and Surrey. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Paris Salon and elsewhere. Outwood Post Mill on Outwood Common, Surrey, is the oldest working Post Mill in Britain. It has stood on the Common at Outwood for over 340 years. It was built in 1665 by Thomas Budgen, just one year before the great fire of London. It was working as a mill right up until 1996 and can still mill corn if required.
