Now recognised as one of the UK’s most respected and accomplished landscape artists,  Allan Macdonald  has lived most of his life in Inverness-shire. He studied at the Edinburgh College of Art  (BA Hons Drawing and Painting) and has exhibited his colourful and vibrant landscapes throughout the UK.  Macdonald, whose  work can be found in several local galleries and in galleries all over the UK and Europe. is best known for the ‘painterly’ and robust style in which he reveals our Scottish landscapes – the storm-tossed  cliffs of  our oasts and islands or the effect of light on our  woodlands.
