Gibson was a Glasgow artist who exhibited between 1912 and 1940, showing 13 works at the Glasgow Institute, 15 at the Royal Scottish Academy, and 1 at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours.
Kilsyth, near Glasgow, in past times by the Scottish artist Alex Gibson. One image is of Tarnbrae, not far from the village, and the other shows the architecture of the old buildings in the hamlet itself. Both signed and titled by the artist and in good condition.
Each measures 33.5 cm wide by 23.5 cm deep (50 cm by 40 cm in its frame).
