Two German Shepherds by Herbert Dicksee

If you’re a dog lover you can’t fail to appreciate the fine work by the English artist Herbert Dicksee (1862- 1942).  This present example – a study of two Alsations – shows just what a fine hand he had. In good condition in its original frame,  it is signed in pencil and numbered 121 from a run of 150.

Measures 43 cm wide by 33 cm deep (63 cm by 53 cm in its frame).

Maj.Gen. James Stuart (c.1735-1783), After Geo. Romney by C.H. Hodges

A fine mezzotint by Charles Howard Hodges (1764-1837) after Geo. Romney showing Major General James Stuart, Commander in Chief of the British Army, in Madras, in military uniform and leaning on a map of India. Published in 1789 by John and Josiah Boydel. In good condition, bearing in mind it considerable age, and remounted in its original frame.

Measures 36 cm wide by 48 cm deep (48 cm by 59 cm in its frame).
