Michael Forbes was born in Dingwall, in Ross-shire, The Highlands, in 1868. A self-taught artist who now sells worldwide, he paints quirky, amusing and sometimes darkly menacing pictures. Whilst Forbes prefers to live in the Highlands, his work on the other hand is highly collectible and widely travelled, showing in London, Monaco, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Berlin and the USA and elsewhere.
