Port St. Mary- Isle of Man, indistinctly signed

A watercolour heightened with white showing a woman with child in  arms standing on the quayside at Port St. Mary, on the Isle of Man, surrounded with the paraphenalia of fishing boats. They are looking out to sea at the arrival or departure of the local fishing fleet, part of which can be seen in the distance.  This work is quite old, probably Victorian judging by the dress of the mother and is indistinctly signed, lower right. Generally in good condition in has a few, small and insignificant marks.

Measures 43.5 cm wide by 35.5 cm deep (64 cm by 54 cm in its original frame).

This well-painted oil on board depicts the Grey Mare’s Tale – the impressive natural hanging valley  and superlative waterfall near Moffat in Dumfriesshire. This work is in good condition having been reframed.

Measures 74 cm wide by 49 cm deep (96 cm by 72 cm in its frame).
