George Soper, the etcher, wood-engraver and watercolourist was born in London and educated in Ramsgate. He exhibited at most of the country’s leading galleries and institutions including 18 works at the Royal Scottish Academy, 48 at the Royal Academy, 14 at the Glasgow Institute and 80 at the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
