A painter of portraits, landscapes and still lives, George J D Bruce trained at the Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting in London since when he has undertaken private and public commissions all over the world. Acknowledged as one of the finest portrait painters of the modern era, Bruce’s commissions include official portraits of the Archbishop of Canterbury and portraits of heads of industry and education. He has been a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters since 1959 and was its President from 1991-4.
