He continued to paint throughout his teaching career and into his retirement, working in a mix of watercolour, gouache and oil on paper and board, and exhibited in major exhibitions throughout out the UK

Beach Huts by Drummond Mayo, RSW (b.1929)

A delightful little watercolour and gouache by the Scottish artist Drummond Mayo, a former member of the RSW, entitled “Beach Huts”. Signed by the artist, this work is a fine example of Mayo’s extraordinary use of colour and composition. In good condition, it bears a label, verso, for the Macaulay Gallery in East Lothian.

Measures 26.5 cm wide by 25 cm deep (42 cm by 41 cm in its frame).
